Does anyone else in the group have a G506? Or any CHEV 1 1/2 ton?

Yep. Mine is very much an on-going restoration... I was lucky to find a very reasonably priced truck almost in my back yard, and was doubly lucky that it still has many of its original parts, including the cargo bed.
You can see a couple of pictures here...

Paul, I looked at all of your pictures. You have put a lot of work into this restoration. It is something to be proud of.

Retro, Looks like you have a solid truck to start with! Good luck with the restoration.

Thank you, and yes when it is finished I will be dead proud to be driving it and being able to say at shows " I did that"
What kind of bed was on the Chevy gunnery trainer trucks?

I have one as well. Currently working on the frame, then the cab, then the cargo body.

I got mine in Sept 2011. It's my second military truck. I really like it. It is a 42 G506 with a winch.
