Gotta love it when you can get stuff for almost 50% off.
Everyone's favorite store to bash Harbor Freight has some really good deals... if you do your homework.
50ft Type R Welding Hose $10 off -> $30
3 gallon Pancake compressor $40 off -> $40
MultiTool $40 off -> $19.99
In total I spent $137 and saved $115. That's just about 50% off for clipping some coupons.
The best of all was not even on sale: Momentary foot switch (to turn on the vacuum to the vacuum platten for printing decals) $15. Other places want $50+
Now before all the tool snobs chime in with HF is garbage I will admit that *SOME* of the HF tools are junk. But you have to do your research. Most of the DIY forums have reviews of the items and tell you flat out they suck or are great. Take the 3 gallon pancake compressor (I bought it for a brad/staple gun for finish molding) many of the reviews say the compressor sucks. But the truth is most of those people didn't do the proper break in (run for 30 minutes with the valves open) and are trying to run framing nailers, paint guns, or drills off it. Of course its never going to stand up to a paint gun, drill or framing nailer. But a brad nailer or staple gun? YES. Forget to break it in? Of course it will not perform.. you didn't seat the seals. Oh, and a lot of the nitwits complained that it was to noisy. IT'S AN OILLESS AIR COMPRESSOR... THEY MAKE NOISE.
Bottom line.. most people simply can't read, or think that a $30 compressor is going to perform like a $1000 two-stage intercooled splash oiled set up. But for an 18 gauge brad nailer? You bet it's gonna work. Yeah, its noisy... but who would spend $300 for a 'brand name' pancake compressor just to avoid 15 seconds of recharge noise?
