Carbonite ended today.. so I needed a new off site, online backup.
Problem with the mass market backups is that they only do windows... and almost all will not allow more than 1 PC per account, and no LINUX support.
iDrive is $50 for 150Gb storage AND has LINUX support (AND includes full API docs AND includes PHP and PYTHON scripts) AND allows more than 1 PC per account. HELLS YEAH!!!
I can also chose my own encryption key (the others could also) but the LINUX support and multiple PCs on one account makes life cheaper and simpler. I can automagically have the web server throw its backups at it, and my laptop AND tablet can also use it.
Carbonite's storage topped out at 67Gb for my laptop, but most of those were videos that are now on youtube. So 150Gb should be more than enough.
Plus I have a local external 1Tb External USB drive (encrypted) that does full image backups and incremental per file bakcups.
You can never have enough backups!!!
