Dual front wheels

I have an axle with the long bolts for dual front tires.

Are there any specific parts other than the longer lugs? Do the dual front wheels require a special axle or any parts?

I know steering would be a fight on dry pavement.. but does anyone have and experience with the safety of putting dual fronts on for say, winter months?

Shouldn't need anything, except 2 spare wheels. The GMC was designed to allow for the front wheels to be twinned the same as the rear. Check out this http://cckw.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3299

The video was excellent.. I'm gonna do it.

WOW, the cost of 13 new tires.. that is gonna hurt.
