Went to Hershey today as they are forecasting rain for the rest of the week. Took down some parts so I could make sure that they are the same.. most I can hope for is to find a place that has 40s era parts as I quickly learned that saying 'MV' is just about the same as speaking in Klingon to 99.99999% of the people there.
My goal was to try and find three things before I resorted to mail order:
fuel line clips
Brake line clamps
window channels/sashes
I also had my eyes out for:
Rear motor mounts
Felt
paint
wire wheel
I found one guy that had a 90% match... the tongue was rolled, not flat... was gonna get them till he said $2.50 each. Nope. Can get a complete set for $12.00 inline INCLUDING the clamps.
No one had the clamps.. one place was close, but not close enough.
Restoration Supply had window channels but they were civvy and not the right profile.
So, $40 in gas, $12 to park, $11 in food, 6 hours of walking and I get to order everything inline.
I won't be going to another AACA Hershey event... they had almost no Chevvy truck parts (MV or civvy) and the place is simply way to random to find anything unless its dumb luck.
I got a Mountain Cur and a ~~pitbull~~ big loveable cuddle puppy
